The rarest expression of the Château, the Origine cuvée has elevated the estate to one of the best in the appellation with this full-bodied RED 2014 with its soft, coated tannins, which was recently praised by the PRESS.
The use of "boutes" (large 600-litre barrels made of Allier oak) has brought woody notes and opened up a wide range of aromas typical of our appellation.

Vineyard management :

. The plots dedicated to the red wine Origine are selected among the micashist soils in the upper part and sandy clay in the lower parts.
. The vines are 15 to 20 years old with a planting density of 5000 vines per hectare.
. The vines are driven in Royat cords with four coursons
. The trellis height is adapted to the vegetative potential of each grape variety
. Winter pruning is done with two eyes
. A rigorous disbudding of unnecessary shoots is carried out in the spring
. Respect for soil and nature: natural grass, compost, drainage without run-off, organic manures

Vinification & Aging

. Destemmed harvest, by night from the end of August to the end of September.
. Pneumatic press with a closed cage
. Vatting period of 4 weeks with daily pumping over.
. Separate press and drop pressing
. Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats
. Aging on fine lees from 10 to 14 months depending on the evolution of the wine.
