The rarest expression of the château, the Cuvée ORIGINE has elevated the estate to one of the best in the appellation with this rosé, which, according to the famous journalist PARKER in 2017, "exceeded all our expectations", after a blind tasting of 147 rosés at the Maison des Côtes de Provence.
The use of "boutes" (large 600-litre barrels made of Allier oak) has, like the white wine and since the 2019 vintage, brought woody notes to this gastronomic rosé which can also be drunk in winter.

Vineyard management :

. The plots dedicated to ORIGINE rosé are selected on the micashist soils of the upper part of the property.
. The vines are between 15 and 18 years old with a planting density of 4500 vines per hectare.
. The vines are driven in Royat cords with four coursons
. The trellis height is adapted to the vegetative potential of each grape variety
. Winter pruning is done with two eyes
. A rigorous disbudding of unnecessary shoots is carried out in the spring
. Respect for soil and nature: natural grass, compost, drainage without run-off, organic manures

Vinification & Aging

. Destemmed harvest, by night from the end of August to the end of September.
. Pneumatic press with a closed cage
. Pellicular maceration of 6 hours on grenache and mourvèdre.
. Careful pressing and racking
